Independence Day and the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration viewing previously held at Southpoint Park on Roosevelt Island has a special place in the life of the Roosevelt Islander Blog because it was the subject of the first post and the reason for the blog coming into being way back on July 4 2007.
